Furthertxt is an online platform for text based discussion, critique and creativity. Edited and curated by Charlotte Frost, a digital art critic and PhD student, in synergy with Furtherfield and the Furtherfield ethos. It features both submitted and discovered texts which contextualise net projects, artworks, communities and creators. Furthertxt concerns itself more with textual promiscuity than academic anaesthetic, providing scope for collaboration and experimentation in the eternal search for the many ways of achieving great text!

Charlotte is a PhD student at Birkbeck College, University of London, with Dr Charlie Gere. She is looking at the methods that might be used to critique Net Art and establish its relationship with the practice of Art History, having studied History of Art at Leeds University and Art Criticism and Management at City University, London. As well as editing Furthertxt, and working as a freelance critic, she regularly writes Net Art News for Rhizome, and has written for Mute Magazine. She has also been a freelance art marketer and gallery manager. List serve lurker, symposium stalker and network nut, tending to furtherfield's purple flora! |
